Your role
At Allens, our business teams are also specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.
You’ll be a part of our wider IT team based in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office. You will be our testing subject matter expert, leading testing initiatives by setting up processes and guiding both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders in effective application and web testing efforts. You’ll design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks that seamlessly integrate with a variety of applications.
In this dynamic role, you’ll spearhead projects to implement and maintain advanced test automation technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and champion best practices that elevate our software quality assurance capabilities.

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Set up processes and guide teams in effective application and web testing.
  • Implement and Maintain Automation Frameworks
  • Integration with Microsoft Office Suite, ensuring testing strategies cover integration points with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Conduct Various Types of Testing: Perform system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing to discover and resolve defects.
  • Collaborate across teams, working closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to improve testing efficiency.
  • Advocate Best Practices: Champion QA best practices and provide training on test automation.
  • Research and assess emerging testing tools and methodologies to enhance QA capabilities.

About you

You will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a test lead or test engineer role.
  • ISTQB certification preferred, but not mandatory with equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with both manual and automated testing tools, along with a solid understanding of their role in achieving effective testing outcomes.
  • Proficiency in platforms like Tricentis Tosca, Smartbear TestComplete, or UIPath AutoPilot.
  • Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience in testing applications across on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others
