Duties

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, and JUnit to validate software functionality across multiple platforms including web, mobile (Android and iOS), and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including developers, business analysts, and DevOps—to understand requirements and translate them into effective test cases and automation frameworks.
• Execute comprehensive system testing, functional testing, performance testing with LoadRunner or similar tools, and user acceptance testing to verify software meets specified requirements.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, or Azure DevOps to facilitate rapid feedback loops and continuous delivery.
• Perform root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases; troubleshoot issues related to software bugs, network configurations, or environment inconsistencies using debugging tools and system analysis techniques.
• Support release management activities by validating new builds, coordinating regression tests, and ensuring smooth deployment processes across different environments.
• Contribute to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices by participating in requirements gathering, design reviews, and documentation of test plans and results.

Requirements

• Proven experience in test automation development using Selenium WebDriver with programming languages such as Java or C#.
• Strong understanding of continuous integration/delivery pipelines with tools like Jenkins or GitLab for automated build and test execution.
• Extensive knowledge of software testing methodologies including functional testing, system testing, performance testing (using LoadRunner or similar), API testing (REST/SOAP), and user acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with SDLC frameworks such as Waterfall or Scrum/Agile methodologies; experience working within Scrum teams preferred.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks; experience with SQL databases (MySQL, Oracle) for data validation is a plus.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting on complex software issues; strong debugging skills are essential.
• Experience working with version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab or SVN; familiarity with TFS is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for environment setup and performance testing is desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical test cases.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and document testing procedures clearly.

Pay: £40,832.27-£74,880.14 per year
