Job Title: Senior Test Engineer – Engine Test (SG24)
Location: Jamestown, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $85,000 – $117,000 annually
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; off-hours/weekends as needed)
Start Date: August 2025

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our Engine Test team in a full-time, first-shift role. This senior-level, hands-on position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, deep understanding of engine control systems, and the ability to lead and innovate in a dynamic manufacturing environment. If you’re a technically driven professional who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement, this is the opportunity for you.

EDUCATION & DESIGN APTITUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), or equivalent experience
  • Candidates with a strong technical background but no formal degree will be considered based on relevant experience and demonstrated capability

LEADERSHIP & SOFT SKILLS:

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor junior staff and lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, independent worker who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Must be willing and able to get involved in technical hands-on tasks — not just delegate

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support engineering projects within the Engine Test area
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving PLCs, engine control systems (e.g., Comptek), mechanical fixtures, and fluid handling systems
  • Review, modify, approve, and implement manufacturing and test processes
  • Serve as project lead for ER, PQP, RFT, BIS, and HSE issue resolution
  • Coordinate and implement new equipment, processes, and option changes
  • Collaborate with Skilled Trades during repair and troubleshooting activities
  • Work with suppliers to source, design, and implement new machinery
  • Support production assembly operations and participate in design reviews
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support plant initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Supervise 1–3 hourly Advanced Manufacturing Associates (AMA) supporting the same area
