Description

The Senior Test Engineer develops and writes testing scripts and plans to ensure that software functions as expected. Evaluates and designs testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards. Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Prepares complex data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows. Involved with a variety of user testing. Prepares detailed specifications from which program bugs will be corrected and follows up with additional tests to ensure proper functional and system behavior per spec. Implements agile testing practices, writes manual and automated test scripts, and uses automated testing tools. Develops and maintains automated test cases for initial validation of features. Participates in day-to-day Agile activities. Writes specialized testing and monitoring tools. Conducts testing of more complex features. Monitors and documents testing results according to required procedures. Deep knowledge of software development lifecycles, automated testing tools and methodologies, and quality assurance methodologies. Works in a highly independent environment. May assume a lead role for work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.

  • Implement automated and manual testing tools and methodologies to support software delivery in a DevSecOps environment for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Lead the migration of systems from legacy testing tools and methodologies to automated and manual tools and methodologies in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Consult and mentor developers, engineers, test engineers, and security engineers on the use of automated and manual testing tools and methodologies in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Manage tests using a Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology.
  • Construct and maintain javascript automated tests using Cypress or equivalent test tool.
  • Review test plans, cases, procedures and reports for all product releases for completeness, consistency and applicability to the requirements.
  • Support development of test planning and documenting and evaluating Test Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP).
  • Identify, document, test, and verify Incident Reports (IR) and Software Trouble Reports (STR), and provide system impact analysis.
  • Witness applicable developmental testing and produce Test Analysis Reports (TAR) to document results and recommendations.
  • Plan, coordinate and perform test events.
  • Support and collaborate with external test organizations e.g., Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center’s (AFOTEC) and Joint Interoperability Test Center (JITC).

Requirements

  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years experience in software/system testing
  • Extensive experience applying testing concepts and tools in a DevSecOps environment
  • Extensive experience applying testing tools in a cloud environments
  • Experience using automated tools including JUnit, GitLab, SonarQube, Cypress
