Burgess & Niple is eagerly searching for a dedicated Senior Traffic Engineer to join our growing team in Indianapolis, IN. As a Senior Traffic Engineer at B&N, you’ll collaborate with some of the top transportation experts in the industry and help lead traffic operations/studies projects.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Indiana or eligibility for registration through reciprocity, PTOE desirable
  • 8+ years of related traffic operations/studies
  • Strong interest in transportation engineering and motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam/Adobe Pro
  • Proficiency in traffic engineering analysis software (HCS, Synchro, Sidra); Vissim and TransModeler experience is beneficial
  • Prior Project Management experience desired
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a project team, collaborating with industry leaders in transportation
  • Lead studies and capacity analysis projects
  • Prepare feasibility studies, interchange studies and traffic analysis for INDOT, local agencies, and clients throughout the country
  • Develop and mentor less experienced traffic engineering staff
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout the project delivery
  • Maintain quality control of services and deliverables
  • Engage with the transportation industry to identify marketing opportunities and build strategic business development relationships
  • Serve as a go-to expert, providing technical guidance and support on traffic studies and capacity analysis
