Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer to join our experienced and technically strong transportation engineering team in Franklin, TN. Engage across a broad spectrum of traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), encompassing planning, geometric and signal design, and data-driven safety analysis to support the development of advanced mobility solutions. The leadership of this team brings a clear direction for the department and is deeply invested in the development of each team member. Engineers are supported through hands-on mentorship, exposure to complex projects, and a path for career growth within a collaborative and forward-moving environment. This position offers a hybrid work week option. As a Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, data-driven mobility solutions while building trusted relationships with clients and contributing to a team committed to technical excellence and professional growth. Primary Areas of Focus Plan and manage traffic engineering tasks as projects/assignments require Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub-consultants in the various assignments Lead project engineering tasks for traffic studies, traffic design, and traffic operations assignments Work with multiple engineering disciplines on larger projects that require traffic engineering services Assist leadership in working with/mentoring staff Coordinate with other disciplines Travel within Tennessee as required to serve the clients and projects - Periodic travel to clients in other states may also be required Qualifications Minimum: BS Civil Engineer with 6 years of related experience and traffic simulation softwares or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Preferred: Professional Engineer License 8 years of traffic engineering and ITS experience or related field Experience with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOT's projects Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, and various traffic simulation software applications such as: Synchro, VISSIM, TransModeler, and HCS or similar appliations Additional Information Relocation is an option for this position Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
