Description Senior Traffic Project Manager - NY - Albany, NY Transportation & Civil Engineering Lead Albany-area senior traffic and transportation projects in a NYSDOT-centered market, supporting traffic engineering, safety analysis, highway and bridge-adjacent transportation work, municipal approvals, client relationships, agency coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery across New York. Lead transportation and civil engineering projects from concept through delivery while managing teams, budgets, scope, schedule, client relationships, proposals, public processes, QA/QC, and safe, efficient mobility solutions. What You’ll Do Lead mid-to-large-scale transportation and traffic projects from setup through planning, safety analysis, design strategy, project kick-off, delivery, and closeout. Manage project budgets, scope, schedules, staffing, billing, QA/QC, client updates, agency coordination, and timely delivery of high-quality transportation deliverables. Collaborate with teams, clients, partners, stakeholders, and approving agencies to align project goals, navigate public processes, and implement municipal approvals. Prepare winning proposals, support interviews, serve as a primary client contact, and partner with Client Services to grow trusted relationships and new business opportunities. Provide clear direction, motivation, mentorship, and technical leadership while representing Fisher in professional organizations, business boards, and community activities. Requirements What We’re Looking For B.S. degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of civil transportation engineering experience, including project management of DOT-funded highway, bridge, or traffic projects. Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it. Proficiency in MS Office required; MicroStation experience preferred; familiarity with NYSDOT design standards preferred. Client relationship strength, project ownership, critical thinking, organization, sound judgment, collaboration, integrity, respect, active listening, adaptability, deadline discipline, and continuous-improvement mindset. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading traffic engineering, safety analysis, transportation planning/design, highway, bridge-adjacent, DOT-funded, or municipal infrastructure projects. Ability to manage project financials, staffing, scope, schedule, proposals, billing, QA/QC, stakeholder coordination, public processes, and closeout expectations. Comfort mentoring team members, coordinating multidisciplinary project delivery, and translating client goals into clear design strategy and executable project plans. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with clients, agencies, municipalities, partners, stakeholders, technical teams, and Client Services. Compensation + Benefits Salary range: $120,000-$155,000; actual compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, education, location, and other factors and excludes the value of benefits.
