We are seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our industry leading Transport Planning team to help win and deliver projects. As an experienced member of the team, you will be a local contact for mentoring and technical advice for junior team members. Recent experience in business case development, strategic transport studies or monitoring and evaluation would be advantageous, but more importantly we are looking for candidates with a passionate about learning and have a curious mindset to assist clients in learning about ‘what works’ and why? We expect excellent written and oral communication skills which we will continue to develop. You will also be expected to provide in-person mentoring and technical advice for more junior team members. Here's what you'll do:Oversight of graduate and consultant work - including task management, quality reviews and mentoring and technical coachingRaising visibility of our local and national transport planning capabilities to enable team growth.Prepare, supervise and deliver in-person presentations/workshops to local internal and external stakeholder groupsWorking with our regional and national leads, you will pro-actively manage a range of projects, including the production of high-quality analysis and associated outputs, within time and budget.Support bids to win work with existing and new clients.Being proactive to make the most of our support and training to continue your professional developmentManaging your time to ensure you meet deadlinesQualificationsWhat we’re looking for:Degree/Masters qualification in analytical subject (e.g. engineering, geography, mathematics, economics, spatial planning) from an accredited college or university, or overall equivalent experience.Membership of, or working towards membership of, a relevant chartered professional institution such as the Engineers Ireland, CIHT or TPS.Working towards professional chartership, such as the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification or Chartered Engineer (CEng).Experience in transport strategy, planning and/or business case development, demonstrating excellent technical capabilities (literacy, numeracy, communication).An analytical background and broad understanding of transport planning methods and best practice techniques.A highly motivated individual with an inquisitive mindset, excellent communication skills and ability to work in a consultancy environment, contributing to effective client relationships and working to tight deadlines.A team player who can work as part of wider project teams across disciplines and geographies – making high quality technical contributions.Adaptability to work on a wide range of transport planning projects, including Development Planning and Management / Spatial Planning projects.Ability to engage with our clients and stakeholders, and to undertake in-person stakeholder facilitation.The ability to project manage small projects or task management on larger projects (time, cost, quality).Mentor and guide junior colleagues.Flexibility to travel to other AECOM and client offices, depending on project requirements.Ability to prepare reports and presentations in a focussed, logical and concise manner.We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team.
