About Our Client Our client is a respected inbound travel business specialising in journeys through Southern Africa for overseas agents and international travellers. The business requires strong product knowledge, supplier confidence, accurate quoting and a service-led approach to client and agent relationships. Role Overview This opportunity is ideal for a senior FIT specialist who can design, quote, book and manage personalised journeys to Southern Africa. The role requires deep destination knowledge, excellent Tourplan capability, strong supplier negotiation skills and the ability to manage high-value bookings with attention to commercial detail. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with overseas agents, managing complex itineraries and ensuring that every operational detail is handled before, during and after travel. Key Responsibilities Design, quote and book tailor-made FIT journeys for international travellers via overseas agents. Manage reservations for all touring services requested by internal and external clients. Quote and convert private charter requests within the required turnaround times. Negotiate and secure the best available rates with preferred suppliers to support profitable bookings. Manage allocated bookings accurately in Tourplan from enquiry stage through to operational handover. Coordinate suppliers, accommodation, transport, guides and other travel services required for each itinerary. Manage pre-tour, during-tour and post-tour processes according to agreed operational standards. Monitor specific scheduled tour departures, group numbers and supplier allocations. Maintain contact with guides during scheduled tours and private charters to ensure smooth delivery. Manage payments, account queries, cancellations, client complaints and emergencies. Monitor profitability on allocated bookings and scheduled tours on a regular basis. Work with product, sales and marketing teams when operational or client requirements demand cross-functional input. Requirements Matric / Grade 12 is required. A Travel and Tourism qualification would be preferable. Minimum 7 years FIT experience is required. Tourplan working knowledge is essential. Excellent knowledge of Southern Africa is required, including tourist attractions, seasonality, geography, routes, distances and travel logistics. Strong supplier negotiation, client service, problem-solving and operational follow-through skills are essential. Excellent written, telephonic and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to manage deadlines, complex itineraries and multiple stakeholders under pressure. Strong attention to detail and basic financial knowledge are required. Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel and Teams, is required.
