A well-established organisation is hiring a Senior Treasury Analyst for a permanent role in Aberdeen. The role involves managing bank guarantees, supporting tenders, liaising with banks, and advising on financial risk. Finance experience is essential; trade finance knowledge is beneficial but full training is provided.

KEY QUALIFICATION

  • Degree qualified with relevant background.

KEY EXPERIENCE:

  • No specific experience in bank guarantees required, training will be provided.
  • A basic understanding in reviewing and negotiating contracts is desirable.
  • Relevant business experience, in particular tendering.
  • Must be able to demonstrate some experience in corporate finance or regional finance matters.

Responsibilities
  • Being recognised by relevant Businesses as the bank guarantee subject matter expert, to both identify and be approached on the topic.
  • Providing guidance and support on the review of potential bank guarantee text (performance / bid bonds/advanced payment bond) at early engagement at tender stage of projects with the global business and working with the banks. This will include: Reviewing and providing advice on appropriate bank guarantee wording to tender teams and subsequently the client.
  • Identifying and engaging with suitable banks and sureties reviewing guarantees on providing feedback and pricing.
  • Providing advice on contracts in relation to bank guarantees.
  • Including the appropriate cost inclusion for new project tenders.
  • Arranging for the issuance of new bank guarantees in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining the global guarantee register.
  • Maintaining proactive communications with businesses and project teams to identify and implement required amendments / extensions / cancellations of existing bank guarantees.
  • Providing cost of bank guarantees to the businesses.
  • Owning the bank guarantee fee payment process.
  • Assisting and support on forecasting the global requirements of bank guarantees and strategy across the group.
  • Assisting on implementing or amending facilities with relationship banks/sureties.
  • Assisting in developing, testing and implementing process improvements to automate the guarantee process and activities such as implementation of a trade finance system.
  • Reviewing other trade finance matters such as receivables financing or supply trade financing.
  • Aligning business processes in the region with the Group Treasury Guidelines for best practice.
