POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Underground Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our team. As Senior Underground Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing mine design, operational processes, and risk mitigation strategies. Your expertise will be critical in integrating complex data sets, implementing ground support systems, and providing innovative solutions tailored to specific site conditions.

Education/Experience

  • Degree in geotechnical engineering, specializing in rock mechanics or a relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Advanced experience with industry software such as RocScience suite, GeoStudio, and Maptek suite

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on mine design, operational processes, and risk identification.
  • Integrate rock mass parameters and monitoring data for effective mine design.
  • Design and implement compliant ground support systems with quality assurance.
  • Conduct geotechnical reviews of designs and audits for compliance.
  • Design and manage stability monitoring systems, implementing ground control strategies.
  • Conduct 2D and 3D geotechnical modeling for the structural model of mines.
  • Oversee data gathering, mapping, and compile accurate geotechnical databases.
  • Provide analytical solutions tailored to site-specific conditions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor geotechnical professionals.
  • Demonstrate competency in risk management and assessment.
  • Possess a deep understanding of underground and/or surface mine design and operations.

Education/Experience
