Description

Under the direction of the Regional Manager, execute Construction business unit strategy for the New York & Pacific Regions. Product line responsibilities include Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability.
As a member of the Major Accounts’ Construction team, contribute to profitable underwriting results through the selection, underwriting, growth, development, and servicing of project-specific and corporate construction insurance programs.
This position is responsible for contributing to top-line production & bottom-line profitability goals, meeting branch administrative standards, and being an active participant on the team. The position requires extensive marketing and collaboration with other Chubb business units and is located in Chubb’s New York City branch.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 4-5 years underwriting experience, preferably with background in Construction.
  • Experience with multiple lines of insurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
    The pay range for the role is $88,800 to $151,100. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. Responsibilities
  • Solicit new and renewal submissions from key brokers with responsibility for new business production and profitability goals.
  • Execute regional marketing and sales strategies, including targeting, cross-sell, and upsell initiatives.
  • Interact collaboratively with the Construction team, colleagues in other business units, and Field Operations professionals in advancement of Company goals.
  • Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions while utilizing complex rating plans.
  • Oversee the business unit’s more complex files and portfolios, managing within delegated underwriting authority and abiding by appropriate referral triggers.
  • Guide and mentor the junior staff within the New York & Pacific Regions. Take on leadership roles within the team.
  • Document underwriting files thoroughly and accurately.
  • Adhere to all underwriting standards and guidelines as outlined by the Division, including all applicable Underwriting Guidelines, Authorities, and Position Papers.
  • Adhere to service standards for accurate and timely policy issuance, accurate premium booking and billing, manuscript form and endorsement processes, and file construction and documentation.
  • Regular agency and broker travel.
  • Knowledge of construction insurance industry, or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong product knowledge, including exposure analysis, forms and coverages, and rating principals and mechanics.
  • Experience handling large, complex risks and loss-sensitive rating structures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and position products to internal and external customers.
  • Strong sales, marketing, and relationship development skills.
  • Established leadership traits with proven ability to promote a productive and inclusive work environment.
