The right candidate will possess the following experience/skills: 5+ years in the mortgage industry, with 3 of the most recent being as an underwriter for forward mortgage loans FHA Direct Endorsement required Knowledge of DU and LP and evaluating feedback required VA Automatic/LAPP required Experience underwriting USDA loans preferred Experience underwriting CHFA loans REQUIRED Paperless environment Proficiency with Encompass desired Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and redirect efforts as needed Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Underwrite first mortgage loans to agency and insurer compliance Decision all loan files in a timely manner and communicate decision to loan officer and processor Review conditions on loans within required timeframes to move loans to closing Regularly exercising knowledge and independent judgement to propose restructuring alternatives on loans where applicable Submitting loans for mortgage insurance approval Pre-flighting credit and income at the request of sales force and/or manager Review appraisals to ensure adequate collateral Qualifications Do you want to be part of the best team in the industry? Responsibilities

The Senior Underwriter will underwrite first mortgage loans to ensure compliance with agency and insurer standards. They will also review loan conditions and communicate decisions to loan officers and processors in a timely manner.
