Description

We are looking for a client-oriented P&C Senior Underwriter to strengthen our organization. This position is part of a team responsible for SCOR’s client relations with non-life insurers in the versatile, exciting, and highly developed Nordic markets. The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for the Danish market or more Nordic countries in terms of marketing and business generation, client relationship, underwriting, pricing, contract certainty and administrative activities.

  • Marketing/Business Generation/Client Relationship
  • Analyse market potential in target area(s) and define product and service requirements as a basis for the development of action plans per client (and per country). These actions should support the KPIs agreed in the strategic plans for the respective market(s) and for SCOR P&C
  • Promote a strong client relationship management with all clients and prospects in the assigned market(s), positioning SCOR as a strategic partner to all
  • Research and/or initiate new business opportunities
  • Prepare, conduct and follow-up on client visits. Analyse industry, market and client data to ensure full customer support as well as responsiveness to clients´ needs. Conduct studies, presentations and statistical analysis for external use
  • Underwriting/Pricing
  • Assess offers for reinsurance programs, including
  • underwriting and pricing of the underlying portfolio
  • negotiating the best obtainable terms and conditions, including most preferred signings
  • full adherence to the SCOR authority and guideline principles in terms of capacity, underwriting and pricing. Refer internally whenever applicable
  • Contract Certainty/Administration
  • Prepare, review, adjust and sign contracts. Refer internally whenever applicable
  • Maintain, update and monitor contract structures in Omega, SCOR´s internal admin system
  • Prepare and review presentations and statistical analysis for internal use

EXPERIENCE:

  • You have at least 5 years working experience in (re)insurance with a focus on client management and underwriting, preferably in the Nordic markets
  • You provide high-quality underwriting services and/or differentiated solutions to best serve clients’ needs. You will demonstrate good understanding of local country non-life insurance and reinsurance markets
  • You have experience as a successful relationship manager and will be a good negotiator, comfortably interacting effectively across all levels. You enjoy dealing with clients and selling solutions, have a persuasive personality and strong follow-through skills
  • You have sound analytic skills demonstrated by thorough portfolio and market assessments allowing for development of strategies to improve business
  • You have a comprehensive knowledge of Business Economics & Finance
  • You demonstrate excellent IT skills with respect to standard software
  • With strong interpersonal skills, you can inspire others and promote teamwork. Self-aware, you establish trust through open, transparent communication and empower others through effective knowledge sharingYou have a perfect command of English. Proficiency in German an/or a Nordic language will be a strong advantage

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • University degree/Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or Law, preferably with a focus on the financial sector, or equivalent
