The Senior UW of Southern Cone has several responsibilities related to the Underwriting P&C business on the region, these responsibilities includes, but are not limited to, analyzing and selecting clients, building up commercial relationships, analyzing and underwrite treaties, follow up the results and building up relationships with the Global Lines. The Senior Underwriter is also responsible of the accurate accountancy and documentation of the business writing, ensuring that they fall under SCOR risk appetite and fulfilling the underwriting guidelines. He is also the person in charge of budgeting and projecting the portfolio performance for planning porpuses.

REQUIREMENTS IN EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCY, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong underwriting, client management as well as accountancy & financial skills.
  • Minimum three to five years Reinsurance business experience.
  • Insurance experience is ideal to assist in the coordination of Insurtech opportunities
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and ever-changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, quantify & analyze problems, relate them to the big picture, drawconclusions, recommend & implement viable, measurable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle priorities / projects concurrently.
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, including Excel, Access & Word•Excellent verbal & written communication skills; proven success communicating effectively at all levels ofan organization.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) essential
  • Availability to work additional hours to meet challenging deadlines.Regular travel is a requirement

Responsibilities
  • Act as Senior Undewriter responsible for P&C Treaty underwriting in the Southern Cone
  • To service & maintain the existing portfolio as well as to seek areas, lines, clients to grow whereappropriate•Responsible for the Strategic direction and Underwriting Planning for the Southern Cone in conjunctionwith LAC CUO
  • To work closely with the local CFO and legal representative to ensure the continuing profitability of thelocal branch
  • Ensure Omega is updated accurately and in a timely fashion for estimates and complete accounts toensure accurate financial results
  • Identify issues arising from monthly and quarterly accounting ICS process. Amend as appropriate andresearch root causes and recommend solutions if needed.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports for management and other members of the organization as needed.
  • May perform other duties as required.
