SENIOR UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Underwriting Assistant to join our General Property team. This role is essential to supporting the underwriting lifecycle; from submission through issuance, while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our underwriting operations. You’ll work closely with underwriters and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service and technical expertise.

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • College Degree Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience in an insurance/reinsurance company
  • Solid understanding of global programs and property insurance
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including pivot tables), Outlook, and Word; PowerPoint a plus
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Provide critical support to underwriters on end-to-end Processes underwriting processes, from initial submission review through policy issuance and post-bind activities
  • Operate and maintain proficiency in various underwriting systems
  • Manage multiple workflows and maintain visibility into task status and deadlines
  • Assist in creating quotes, binders, certificates, and endorsements
  • Ensure all documentation is properly filed and compliant with audit standards
  • Review policies and discuss changes with underwriters
  • Mentor and train newer Underwriting Assistants
  • Conduct quarterly peer audit reviews
  • Support report preparation and distribution for managers and underwriters
  • Monitor account receivables and assist the accounting team with reconciliation
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments as needed
