Overall Key Position Objective
The incumbent is to work within established guidelines and to ensure that products are underwritten to meet line of business targeted ratios for losses and commissions. This includes direct and allocated expenses to meet or exceed audit criteria on underwriting management and portfolio management.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute brokerage strategy ensuring key performance indicators objectives are met & underwriting profitability is maintained. Strike rates are optimized for quotations given as well as effective and sound relationship management of brokers
  • Develop and implement an effective program to manage the portfolio of business underwritten to produce an underwriting profit
  • Ensure all business is underwritten within established Internal Audit Guidelines
  • Proactive review and sourcing for new business
  • Prepare for account renewal review within the required lead time agreed with the brokers
  • Proactive follow up on quotes and renewals
  • Meeting the agreed Service Level Agreements in all aspect of work
  • Prepare submissions for underwriting review beyond delegated underwriting authority
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify and produce new products and/or packages to meet current or potential market needs
  • Communicate to brokers on policy wordings and administrative/claims procedures and quality standards
  • Work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders on usage and issues of quite and bind portal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years A&H underwriting experience. Professional qualification such as ACII is a plus.
  • You must be a team player and an effective negotiator with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is resourceful with strong problem solving and analytical skills, paying attention to details accuracy.
