Job Description We are seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join our dynamic team in Amman. As a key member of our urban development department, you will be deeply involved in the design and coordination of masterplans at multiple scales, through innovative and sustainable urban planning initiatives. Lead and manage complex Master Planning projects from conception to implementation. Develop comprehensive land use plans, zoning regulations, spatial frameworks, and urban design guidelines. Defining block structure, street hierarchy, and public realm concepts. Define development parameters (FAR, densities, plot ratios, heigh controls setbacks) and oversee preparation of DCRs and planning documentation. Conduct in-depth analysis of demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform planning decisions. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architecture, infrastructure, landscape, mobility, environment, utilities) to ensure integrated masterplan delivery. Prepare and present strategic reports, planning justifications, and technical submissions to clients and government authorities. Integrate sustainability, resilience, microclimate responsiveness, and smart city strategies into urban development frameworks. Mentor junior planners and contribute to the overall growth of the planning team. Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in urban planning and sustainable development. Qualifications Bachelor and Master's degree in Urban Planning, or a closely related field Professional certification is preferred Minimum 10 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on large-scale urban development projects. Having mixed skills (Planning, Urban, Architecture, Landscape) is highly appreciated. Proven experience leading planning stages such as CMP, DMP, SMP, or equivalent Master Planning phases. Strong design skills in large-scale Master Planning, with the ability to translate vision into structured, buildable masterplans and design guidelines Proficiency in CAD and Adobe applications is required, while experience or familiarity with Revit and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) will be considered an advantage. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent data analysis and visualization capabilities Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s urban planning regulations and policies will be considered an advantage. Demonstrated experience in sustainable urban design and smart city concepts. Experience with urban microsimulation tools as an advantage. Proven track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to think strategically and develop visionary urban planning solutions.
