DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

Lenovo’s AI Ecosystems team is seeking a Senior UX Motion Designer to lead the development of motion design systems that bring clarity, delight, and cohesion to our AI-driven experiences. This role will operate at the intersection of interaction design, prototyping, and guiding development cycles through final implementation. You are an expert in translating product vision into scalable motion principles and technical specifications.
You will work in close partnership with UX/UI designers, researchers, engineers, senior leadership, and product teammates to define Lenovo’s motion language across devices and a variety of platforms. Your focus will be to formalize motion behaviors that enhance usability, bring delight, communicate system feedback, and contribute to a unified design system. This is a unique opportunity to shape the role of motion within Lenovo’s growing AI design practice.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in UX or product design with a strong focus on UX specific motion design.
  • Demonstrated experience working within or contributing to a design system.
  • Experience with developing motion systems for shipped products that are in the marketplace.
  • Expertise in After Effects, Figma, and emerging prototyping tools (e.g., Lottie, Framer, Principle).
  • Strong understanding of motion for usability, accessibility, and scaling performance across multiple platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Animation, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your work and design skills is required for consideration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to translate conceptual design into technical specs for development teams.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience designing motion systems for AI or multimodal interfaces.
  • Familiarity with implementation constraints and handoff workflows across Android, Windows, and web platforms.
  • Comfort leading motion design workstreams and mentoring others.
  • Knowledge of emerging tools in motion prototyping or generative design.
Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve UX motion design systems that align with AI-driven product experiences.
  • Translate complex interactions into motion prototypes, specs, and handoff documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design Systems team to integrate motion into Figma libraries and guidelines.
  • Partner with technical partners and engineers to ensure motion intent is preserved through implementation across devices.
  • Develop motion principles that enhance clarity, usability, and brand identity across multimodal interfaces.
  • Lead motion critiques and reviews, providing mentorship and direction to peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes using tools like After Effects, Figma, Framer, Principle, or emerging prototyping tools to test and communicate motion behaviors.
  • Contribute to documentation that supports consistency, scalability, and developer alignment.
  • Stay current with emerging prototyping tools, technologies, and best practices in motion and AI design.
