Job Description Purpose of the Role Execute VAT compliance program and controls for assigned entities to provide assurance that indirect tax is accurately accounted for and reported in relation to business activities and SAP programming; Support local finance and key stakeholders with queries having VAT implications. We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help: Ensure end-to-end VAT compliance with full ownership, including preparation / review of VAT returns and other VAT related reports for European countries Reconciliation of indirect tax balance sheet accounts - open item management - advise posting corrections Support VAT process standardization projects and implementing new digital tax solutions Drive continuous improvement, challenge status quo Participate in month-end closing procedure Support the local businesses and other finance departments in VAT related matters Interact with external service providers Advise on VAT treatment Follow-up and implement legal changes Ensure internal and external control processes Actively participate in internal/external VAT audits Meet all reporting deadlines Ad-hoc and complex issue resolution Provide back-up for other team members Qualifications At Syngenta we are highly people focused – we look for professionals who are engaged, collaborative and excellent in execution.
