Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded General Contractor based in Central Florida, is seeking a talented Virtual Design & Construction Senior Engineer to work on projects in the Commercial, Education, and/or Water Treatment construction markets. A successful VDC Senior Engineer will be a self-starter, effective communicator and a team leader with a high level of knowledge in MEPF system coordination (Commercial) or experience in Process Pipe system design and detailing for fabrication drawings of Ductile Iron, HDPE, Steel or PVC/CPVC piping.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Experience using Autodesk AEC Design Suite (AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks/Plant3D)
• Experience with Bentley OpenPlant and MicroStation a plus
• NavisWorks and BlueBeam experience required
• Microsoft Suite

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field with 5 years’ experience OR 15 years’ experience in Computerized Aided Design and Drafting
• Verifiable experience leading BIM Collaboration projects for large-scale and multi-building projects
• Must be able to multitask, work as a team, and be able & willing to interact with clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors
• High attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to gradually take on more responsibility
• Ability to assume leadership roles
• Must possess a positive attitude, an outstanding work ethic and be team oriented
• Knowledge of Process Pipe detailing and drafting

• Prepare 3D models using Spec Driven software AutoCAD, Revit, or Bentley OpenPlant and MicroStation
• Maintain effective communication with project teams and subcontractors
• Review models and project documents for quality control
• Model 3D components in AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley OpenPlant or MicroStation
• Produce 2D layout drawings of process piping for field use (Water)
• Generate 2D piping shop drawings with Bill of Materials for fabrication (Water)
• Use 3D models for quantity extraction
• Gather measurements and information in the field
• Document management
• Lead BIM Collaboration meetings via Microsoft Teams with MEPF Subcontractors to ensure Commercial Project coordination
• Provide support information to project teams for RFI’s
• Assist in training VDC Interns and Technicians
