We are now looking for a Senior Vehicle Technician for our Volvo dealership in Hessle, Hull. We offer full-time hours and a competitive rate of pay (plus bonus) dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE – WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Senior Vehicle Technician, your key responsibility will be to oversee and carry out advanced diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on vehicles. You’ll be expected to deliver high-quality work, ensuring customer vehicles are serviced to the highest industry standards. In addition, you’ll mentor junior technicians, guiding them in troubleshooting and repairs. Your attention to detail and communication skills will be vital, especially when interacting with customers and ensuring their needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic tests and repairs on vehicles, ensuring all work is carried out to factory standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior technicians, providing support and guidance.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and report on vehicle conditions, noting additional work required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers about necessary repairs, using clear, understandable language.
  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance work complies with company, manufacturer, and industry guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee vehicle servicing, repairs, and parts replacement, ensuring customer satisfaction.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 IMI qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician in a similar environment.
  • Experience in diagnosing faults and performing complex repairs.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when explaining technical issues to customers.
  • A customer-focused attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Leadership skills to manage and support a team of technicians.
  • A valid driving licence with no excessive penalties
