POSITION OVERVIEW • Oversee a state-of-the-art veterinary facility in the Boston area • Work alongside veterinarians and additional hospital staff members • Provide full-time veterinary care in a private practice setting • Support growth of the veterinary team as the facility expands • Opportunity to grow into a Director of Operations role managing multiple facilities • Facility is expected to eventually open 7 days per week ROLE • Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries of pets, primarily dogs and cats • Treat patients surgically and medically • Collaborate within the veterinary ecosystem and communicate with referring veterinarians • Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training • Work with the Regional Operations Manager and Hospital Manager to maintain high standards of care • Administer core vaccinations and counsel clients on well-pet care • Perform dentals • Contribute to an enjoyable workplace for staff, clients, and pets • Manage time, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment ENVIRONMENT • Private practice • Veterinary hospital setting • Boston area • Small animal care, primarily dogs and cats • Growth opportunity for the right candidate BENEFITS • Full benefits package • Bonus incentives • Profit sharing options • Healthcare insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Flexible spending account or health savings account options • Continuing education support • Coverage for travel, association dues, licensure, and time off to attend CE events • Flexible scheduling • Variety of shift options • Ability to float between different services • 401(k) • Stock options • Flexible PTO structure • Accommodations for CE and additional floating holidays Requirements • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent degree from an accredited institution REQUIRED • 5+ years of veterinarian experience working in a veterinary hospital REQUIRED • Eligible to obtain Massachusetts State Veterinary License REQUIRED • Experience examining, diagnosing, and treating pets surgically or medically REQUIRED • Experience performing dentals REQUIRED • Experience administering core vaccinations and counseling clients in well-pet care REQUIRED • Ability to work onsite in the Boston area REQUIRED Preferred / Helpful Background • Senior veterinarian experience • Experience working with hospital leadership or operations leadership • Experience helping grow or support a veterinary team • Interest in growth toward Director of Operations responsibilities
