REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in real-time VFX development for games.
  • Expertise in Niagara and Unreal Engine 5’s VFX pipeline.
  • Strong technical skills in shaders, materials, and particle simulation.
  • Experience with procedural effects and physics-based simulations.
  • Good understanding of performance optimization techniques for real-time effects.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Blueprints, HLSL, Python or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with Houdini, Substance Designer, or other procedural tools is a plus.
  • Strong artistic sense with an eye for motion, timing, and composition.
  • Ability to work onsite in Munich, Germany.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior VFX Artist / Tech Artist, you will be responsible for creating stunning, real-time visual effects using Niagara, optimizing performance, and working closely with engineers, artists, and designers to elevate the game’s immersion. You’ll help shape the VFX pipeline, ensuring high-quality effects that blend seamlessly into our procedurally generated, AI-driven world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create high-quality real-time visual effects using Niagara for environmental effects, combat, weather, water, and destruction.
  • Develop and optimize VFX pipelines to ensure seamless integration with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Work closely with tech artists, engineers, and designers to push the boundaries of in-game visual fidelity.
  • Implement procedural and dynamic effects that interact with the game world (e.g., fire spreading, weather impact, terrain destruction).
  • Optimize effects for performance on high-end PCs and next-gen consoles (PS5/Xbox).
  • Prototype new effects and integrate them into the game with a focus on scalability and realism.
  • Enhance shaders, materials, and particle behaviors to elevate the game’s atmosphere.
  • Debug and troubleshoot VFX-related performance issues with profiling tools.
  • Stay up to date with latest industry trends and advancements in VFX and real-time rendering.
