Description The SVP of Marketing serves as the strategic marketing leader for Shelby County State Bank, responsible for aligning the bank’s brand, messaging, and marketing efforts with its overall strategic direction. This executive role partners closely with executive leadership to translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable marketing plans that support growth across loans, deposits, and customer relationships. The SVP of Marketing serves as the steward of SCSB’s brand – Family. Service. Community. – while ensuring marketing efforts are cohesive, forward-looking, and aligned with the banks long-term vision and community focus. Requirements Strategic Marketing Leadership Partner with executive leadership to shape and execute marketing strategies aligned with SCSB’s strategic priorities Translate business objectives into clear, actionable marketing plans that support organizational growth Brand & Market Positioning Lead and evolve SCSB’s brand identity: Family. Service. Community. Ensure consistent, market-relevant messaging across all communities and channels Strengthen the bank’s community presence while aligning branding with growth initiatives Marketing Execution & Channels Oversee a multi-channel marketing strategy spanning digital, community engagement, and targeted outreach Ensure content and campaigns effectively support brand awareness, customer education, and product growth Growth & Performance Align marketing initiatives with loan growth, deposit growth, and customer acquisition and retention goals Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure campaign effectiveness and business impact Collaborate with lending and retail teams to support growth efforts across markets Communications & Public Relations Lead internal and external communications strategy, ensuring clarity and consistency Oversee media relations, community messaging, and reputation management Support executive leadership in communicating strategic initiatives and organizational changes Team Leadership & Operations Lead and develop the marketing function, including direct oversight of the VP of Marketing Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources to maximize impact and efficiency Oversee external agencies, vendors, and partners Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decision-making Key Competencies Strategic thinker with a collaborative leadership style Strong expertise in brand development, marketing strategy, and execution Solid business and banking acumen Ability to connect marketing efforts to measurable organizational outcomes Executive presence with strong communication and influence skills Customer-focused mindset with a passion for community banking Supervisory Responsibilities Directly lead: VP of Marketing (execution, branding, PR, social) Collaborate with Business Development Officer (growth initiatives) Qualifications 10+ years of marketing leadership experience Experience in financial services or relationship-driven industries preferred Demonstrated ability to: Develop and execute marketing strategies Lead content and channel execution Work effectively with executive leadership Disclaimer This job description is not exhaustive and may be adjusted by management.
