Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Vice President, People Experience to join our team! The Senior Vice President (SVP) of People Experience is responsible for shaping and executing a progressive team strategy that supports the credit union’s continued growth, operational excellence, and mission to improve members’ financial lives. This role oversees all HR functions, including strategic workforce planning, recruitment, talent development, coaching, employee engagement, and organizational design. As a culture champion, the SVP ensures the credit union attracts, retains, and develops top talent while fostering a purpose-driven, and high-performance culture across all levels of the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification: SHRM-SCP or SPHR
  • Minimum 8 years of experience at a financial institution
  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing employees
  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing HR functions and labor laws for California employees.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing learning and development/talent development functions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience overseeing payroll
  • Previous multi-state experience required

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading the design and execution of enterprise-wide talent strategies that align with the credit union’s long-term goals and core values.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and executive team on organizational health, succession planning, leadership development, and change management.
  • Driving data-informed HR planning and decision-making, leveraging insights to anticipate workforce needs and trends.
  • Overseeing full-cycle recruitment to attract top-tier talent across all functions, with a strong focus on culture fit and future potential.
  • Fostering a culture of coaching and continuous training & talent development by leading organizational design and change initiatives, championing workforce upskilling and reskilling aligned with strategic goals, and embedding mentoring, feedback, and growth into leadership and employee development frameworks.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment regulations and drive HR operational efficiency across compensation, benefits, performance management, and policy.
  • Leading HR technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives to enhance service delivery and employee experience.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly meeting with each team member to coach and mentor to ensure alignment around FFCU’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Providing team members with training, tools, and resources to successfully perform their jobs.
  • Holding teams accountable for meeting all service level agreements, ensuring the team’s work is accurate/efficient, and providing coaching, feedback, or training as needed.
  • Providing and ensuring development opportunities are available for team members as part of their overall career path with the Credit Union.
  • Leading change by identifying opportunities that consistently raise the bar and improve service levels.
  • Assisting the Credit Union with executing the business plan of the organization.
