General Motors is undergoing a major transformation, both in how we operate and in how we will influence the future of transportation. As we move towards our Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion vision for the future, we are on the forefront of this work and seeking out driven, innovative individuals who will join our team to help achieve our mission. The Electrification Propulsion Integration (EPI) organization is currently looking for experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Virtual Calibration Development Engineer. EPI is developing an exciting and innovative calibration strategy that combines both lab and simulation-based environments (Road to Lab to Math).
The Virtual Calibration Development Engineer will play a critical role building, integrating, validating, and deploying these new environments for the execution of Calibration Standard Work across both Production and Advanced Calibration Teams. The position is located at the Milford Proving Grounds in a unique facility dedicated to Hybrid, EV, and Autonomous Vehicle development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop non-vehicle environments (e.g., Dyno, Battery Systems Lab, Hardware in the Loop bench(s), Charger Integration Lab, and Virtual, in partnership with cross-organizational personnel, for the execution of calibration standard work
  • Integrate plant models into our lab (e.g., Pontiac dyno, Warren Battery Systems Lab environments)
  • Lead correlation projects demonstrating the capability of the lab/simulation environments.
  • Coordinate across organizations on addressing correlation gaps.
  • Automate/script calibration procedures and data post processing tasks.
  • Support the continuous development of our scripting/automation framework.
  • Mentor Calibration Engineers and Technical Specialists on the use of the RLM environments, providing technical training and establish good communication and knowledge-sharing.
  • Lead/Support the resolution of Lab or Virtual issues.
  • Support various GVE/VPAMM and SIL ART forums.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements, treating safety as the top priority during all work activities.
