POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Unified Communications (UC) Technician with strong expertise in NEC systems to deliver, install, service, program, test, and troubleshoot UC platforms for hospital locations across New Jersey. This role requires hands-on NEC experience, the ability to work independently, and strong client-facing communication skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Associate degree, certification in technology services, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 6+ years in Voice Telecommunications, preferably with NEC systems.
  • Proven ability to install, service, and troubleshoot NEC UC systems.
  • Knowledge of data networks, protocols, routing, cloud services, security principles, VPN, and remote access.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural, and electrical diagrams.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be physically able to carry up to 30 lbs., lift up to 50 lbs., and work at heights.
    Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel to hospital sites

Responsibilities
  • Company car will be provided
  • Lead installation, configuration, and programming of NEC UC platforms, including chat, voice, video, mobility, messaging, and digital signage features.
  • Provide on-site installation, service, testing, and troubleshooting of UC systems (NEC, Cisco, Microsoft, Avaya, Mitel, Shoretel, Unify, etc.).
  • Perform hardware/software upgrades, cross-connect work, and phone installations.
  • Analyze and resolve system issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Assist with UC design/configuration for new NEC applications, including legacy and latest hardware/software.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work per organizational procedures.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on SOW and scope management.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, ensuring work progress and expectations are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during all work activities.
