RELAXED FINE DINING; FIELD TO FORK AND COOKED FROM SCRATCH (OFTEN SOURCED FROM OUR OWN FARM OR WALLED GARDEN).
We are looking for a reliable, professional and engaging Senior Waiter / Waiter to deliver front of house operations in our restaurant (the café is separate to the restaurant).
We operate a daytime, semi-seasonal operation, Wednesday to Sunday, with a varied customer base: the café & restaurant support local visitors year-round, with seasonal visitors to the garden (neighbouring visitor attraction) also catered for during the summer. Iford is rapidly becoming a destination; somewhere that you need to book to guarantee a table.
With only a few evenings required (private dining, twice monthly supper clubs), your role will be based on a 20 hour week, which will vary based on events being held.
In Winter season, when Iford Manor Gardens are closed, a slightly less fast-paced environment allows us to focus more on connoisseurship, with tastings, workshops and live music events; as well as our breakfast and lunch service.
Working closely with both our Head Chef and Managing Partner, the right applicant will be knowledgeable and passionate about food and drink as well as customer service.
All food served at Iford is made from scratch on the premises, with many of the ingredients grown or reared on the Iford Estate, and the rest sourced from the best quality, local suppliers.
Customers should leave feeling refreshed and well fed after an exceptional experience in a beautiful setting.
The successful candidate will enjoy the fast pace of serving high quality food and drink to a packed restaurant, communicating our ethos of care, attention and connoisseurship in a relaxed manner, and leading a young team to best effect.
You will be responsible for opening and closing the restaurant area each day, as well as ensuring that the health & hygiene requirements are met by the front of house team as set by our Head Chef.
We take Health and Hygiene extremely seriously, and with an eye for detail and process, you will most likely already possess a Level 2 Health and Hygiene certificate, and have at least 2 years’ service in a similar role.
This role is permanent and full-time, so would not be suitable for someone looking for part-time and/or seasonal work.
