QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Environmental) or Geosciences.
  • Water management experience in the mining industry with specifics around large scale open pit dewatering, water supply, reinjection, sumping and tailings operations.
  • Working knowledge of Industry and Australian Standards, Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, connect and influence key stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advance skills in MS Office, in particular Excel
  • Experience using GIS and CAD software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and nurture a diverse team covering production, reliability, control systems and dewatering hydrogeology.
  • Provide technical direction and solutions to the operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvement and optimisation of the dewatering and water supply networks.
  • Actively identify and lead improvements to all dewatering related standards, specifications, procedures, systems and processes.
  • Oversee monthly dewatering and water supply operational plans and monitoring of dewatering progress.
  • Establish and maintain standard measuring, monitoring, and reporting of assets performance, and provide strategies and tactics to continuously improve the reliability of those assets.
  • Continuously liaise with Projects on the safe and successful design, implementation and commissioning of delivered water projects to standards and procedures.
  • Liase with the Long Term Planning team to ensure continued alignment of objectives and plans for improvement.
  • Generate improvement projects and drive the team to deliver these projects based on the benefit they will provide to the department and our key stakeholders.
