SENIOR WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER / PROJECT MANAGER

Location: 7908 Cameron Rd, Austin, TX 78754 (Hybrid: 3 WFH / 2 On-site)
Compensation: $145,000+ (commensurate with experience)

Important: This is not a transportation drainage role. Candidates with primarily highway experience will not be considered.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Licensed Texas PE (3+ years minimum as PE)
  • 10–12+ years of experience in drainage, stormwater, and water resources engineering
  • Proven project management & leadership background
  • Strong knowledge of FEMA flood mapping processes
  • Excellent communication & client-facing skills
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams and apply advanced technical expertise to plan, analyze, and design stormwater and watershed projects across Texas municipalities. This includes stormwater treatment facilities, stream restoration, flood mitigation, erosion control, and drainage system design.
You’ll oversee project delivery (scope, schedule, budget, quality), manage client relationships, support business development efforts, and provide leadership for engineers and technical staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, and train engineers & technical staff to achieve project goals
  • Manage design and permitting for storm drain, stormwater treatment, and flood mitigation systems
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and reports
  • Oversee CAD coordination and QA/QC review of drawings
  • Support business development efforts, proposals, and marketing materials
  • Collaborate with finance team on budgets, forecasting, and invoicing
  • Conduct team meetings, project updates, and client presentations
  • Provide technical leadership in solving flood, erosion, and water quality issues using innovative methods
  • Perform light travel (primarily Austin–San Antonio corridor)
