ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who’s:

  • Experienced in water network monitoring, instrumentation, or a related field
  • Confident leading small teams and coordinating field operations
  • Safety-focused, with experience working in confined spaces and outdoor environments
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting, with basic proficiency in Word and Excel
  • A holder of a Full NZ driver’s licence and legally entitled to work in NZ

A background in plumbing, drainlaying, building, or contracting is valuable. Leadership experience in technical or field-based roles is highly desirable.

At Mott MacDonald New Zealand, we’re looking for a Senior Water Technician to take a leadership role within our specialist water utility monitoring team. This is your opportunity to guide and mentor others, manage field operations, and contribute to high-impact water and wastewater projects that make a real difference across Aotearoa.
This role blends technical expertise with team leadership, offering a dynamic mix of fieldwork, data analysis, and strategic coordination. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring the safety, quality, and performance of our monitoring programs—programs that underpin major infrastructure upgrades and environmental compliance.
