We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead, build and evolve the continuous development and ongoing support of the University’s central web services, including its web publishing platform (EdWeb 2). This is a great opportunity for a Senior Web developer to bring their expertise and knowledge to design and deliver complex enterprise-level web platforms, and bring positive influence on the highly collaborative, supportive environment of the central Website and Communications team.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The University operates a centrally managed website platform with over 150 live, high profile, websites. A new web publishing platform was developed and launched in 2024, and will continue to improve following a regularly updated road map, informed by data-driven insights and user research.
This platform, in parallel with the University’s Student & Staff Portal (MyEd), are using open-source software, highlighting the commitment of the University to support the usage of open software and data across its services.
We are ideally looking for full-time hours (35hrs per week) but are committed to offering flexibility and would be happy to consider flexible working arrangements, such as compressed hours or longer breaks in the working day. The team office location is at the west edge of the University’s central campus, in Argyle House, 3, Lady Lawson Street EH3 9DR. The role offers a hybrid working pattern and the successful individual will likely work partly from home and partly on campus.
