Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Welding Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving welding processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing. This role involves working closely with design, production, and quality teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. This position can be FT or LTLB.

Responsibilities:

This role puts you at the center of welding innovation and quality. You’ll develop and optimize welding processes, support production teams, and ensure every weld meets industry standards. From collaborating with engineers to solving real-time issues, you’ll play a key role in bringing designs to life with precision and reliability.

  • Welding Procedure Development: Develop and optimize welding procedures and processes for new and existing products
  • Method & Material Selection: Select appropriate welding methods, equipment, and materials based on project requirements
  • Testing & Compliance: Specify weld testing and inspection to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME)
  • Production Support: Provide technical support to production teams and resolve welding-related issues
  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and weldability of components
  • Documentation Management: Maintain welding documentation, including WPS, PQR, and WPQ records
  • Defect Analysis: Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for welding defects
  • Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or 15+ years of experience in welding engineering or a related manufacturing role
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in welding engineering
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, etc.)
  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, etc.)
  • Proficiency in CAD software and welding simulation tools is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Certification as a Welding Engineer or Welding Inspector (e.g., CWI) is preferred

Pay Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr. Additional Information:
