Company Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Well Site Geologist to support offshore drilling operations in Namibia on a 12-month contract. The role is primarily offshore on a rotational 4x4 weeks schedule, with potential onshore stays in Windhoek, Lüderitz, or Walvis Bay. The position involves acting as the on-rig geological authority, providing real-time subsurface interpretation and operational support during drilling of exploration, appraisal, and development wells in deep offshore and HPHT environments. The role requires close coordination with drilling teams, service companies, and onshore subsurface teams to ensure safe, efficient, and geologically optimized well delivery. Job Description Provide real-time geological interpretation during drilling operations Monitor and integrate cuttings, mud gas, LWD/MWD, and wireline data Identify formation tops, lithology changes, reservoir zones, and hydrocarbon shows Correlate real-time data with seismic and pre-drill geological models Detect and communicate drilling hazards including overpressure, losses, and instability Recommend casing setting depths, coring points, and TD calls Ensure quality control and integration of all geological and well data Supervise mud logging, LWD, wireline, coring, and associated service companies Manage sample handling, labeling, and dispatch (cuttings, cores, fluids, gases) Ensure compliance with acquisition programs and data standards Participate in risk assessments, HSE meetings, and incident reporting Act as primary geological contact on the rig and coordinate with onshore teams Deliver daily geological reports, end-of-well reports, and post-well reviews Mentor junior geologists and support continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Minimum 10 years’ experience as Senior Well Site Geologist Proven experience in exploration, appraisal, deep offshore, and HPHT wells Strong background in vertical, deviated wells and sidetrack operations Extensive exposure to LWD/MWD, wireline logging, coring, and mud logging Solid understanding of: Sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology Formation evaluation and petrophysics Real-time drilling data interpretation and integration Experience in operational environments including drilling hazards and well delivery processes Proficiency in industry software (GRAVITAS, Gemstone, SQMT or equivalent) Offshore certifications: BOSIET (with EBS), offshore medical Geoscience qualification (BTS or higher in Geology or related field) Fluent English (spoken and written, mandatory) Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills in high-pressure environments Full compliance with HSE standards and offshore operational procedures Additional Information Location: Namibia, rotational Starting date: September 2026 Duration: 1 year, renewable
