We have a 12 month FTC role available for a Senior Wintel Engineer to join us. You’ll implement, manage, and support the services that the Wintel Infrastructure Services team are responsible for, whilst also having a strong focus on continuous improvement through automation and orchestration. This will include providing SME technical support and consultation regarding infrastructure on projects as well as BAU support of systems and services.
A core objective of the team over the next several years is to build cloud first to transform our service to customers. As part of the Wintel team, the role drives a focus for Microsoft Azure windows service solutions to automate provision of Infrastructure (IaaS) and Platform (PaaS) as a Service environments.

The Wintel Systems Engineer will:

• Manage the full range of technologies that the Wintel team supports including, but not limited to: Windows Server, Microsoft System Center suite, Hyper-V, Cisco UCS, VMware, Nutanix, Azure infrastructure services
• Manage the core functions of the above technologies including, but not limited to: Lifecycle, backups, vulnerability management and general support
• Managing to a continuous improvement practice delivering improvements through automation and orchestration
• Investigating and resolving complex problems
• Providing a high degree of support for operational teams

.Skills required to be successful in the role:

• Industry based certifications relating to the Microsoft, Cisco UCS, VMware, and technologies stacks
• 4-6 years industry experience in a similar role
• 1-2 years experience in a senior operational support role
• Experience with Microsoft Bicep and/or Terraform deploying Azure services or equivalent cloud
• Significant experience creating Microsoft PowerShell scripting solutions
• Experience in CICD practices and Microsoft Azure Devops
