SUMMARY:
The Senior WMS Software Engineer is a critical support role for the automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) platform and services provided to Maersk Contract Logistics (MCL) clients. Maersk Contract Logistics is a dynamic and growing distribution, logistics, and transportation organization seeking to enhance and expand its WMS capabilities and utilization. MCL currently employs four WMS platforms to manage its different product categories: Manhattan Associates’ Integrated Logistics System (ILS/SCALE) WMS and Maersk WMS (Legacy Infor Code) for fulfillment operations, as well as WebEC and SoftPoint (homegrown) for transload and cross-dock operations.
The successful candidate must be flexible, self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with experience in a fast-paced third-party logistics environment. They must possess strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of the organization, as well as function well within a team context. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong desire to develop application software expertise and a passion for assisting business users in maximizing WMS applications. Patience, innovation, and persistence in overcoming resistance to change are essential. This individual also must be able to train and mentor other Software Engineers on the team.
This role requires continuous documentation of application configurations, support issues and resolutions, user feedback, and frequently asked questions. The candidate should also have the confidence to challenge legacy operational processes, encourage WMS best practices (especially in replacing manual processes with automated WMS solutions), and propose viable process alternatives.
