We are looking for a Senior WordPress Plugin Developer with strong backend expertise in PHP, MySQL, WordPress Core API, and WooCommerce to help develop and finalize a next-generation modular business plugin. This is an early-stage development role, and confidentiality is essential. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working under NDA while building a scalable, high-performance WordPress plugin.
The developer must demonstrate strong independent coding and problem-solving skills. While AI tools like GitHub Copilot can be used as an aid, we require someone who can write, debug, and optimize code independently without relying on AI-generated solutions.

CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS (MUST-HAVE)

✅ Strong PHP development skills, with expertise in WordPress Core API & WooCommerce.
✅ Experience developing custom WordPress plugins with scalable, modular architecture.
✅ Proficiency in MySQL, writing efficient queries, and optimizing database performance.
✅ Deep understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, actions, and REST API.
✅ Strong JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX for admin panel UI and interactive features.
✅ Ability to integrate custom APIs and third-party services (e.g., QuickBooks, shipping APIs).
✅ Experience with WordPress security best practices (sanitization, escaping, role management).
✅ Familiarity with Git & GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
✅ Comfortable working in VS Code, using project management tools, and Draw.io for workflows.

PREFERRED SKILLS (NICE-TO-HAVE)

➕ Experience with React or Vue.js for admin panel enhancements.➕ Knowledge of WooCommerce order management & automation.➕ Familiarity with performance optimization techniques (lazy loading, caching, minification).➕ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and local development environments (Docker, Local WP).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop modular, scalable WordPress plugin components with an expandable architecture.
• Handle database interactions, API integrations, and workflow automation.
• Implement secure and efficient backend logic while supporting admin panel UI functionality (AJAX, jQuery, or React/Vue).
• Optimize performance, security, and maintainability for long-term scalability.
• Work closely with the founder to shape the early-stage development and solve real-world problems in a real production business environment. We value clear, proactive communication and expect regular updates, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving. Experience with daily stand-ups, using project management tools, and active participation in team discussions is highly valued.
