SENIOR ZERO TRUST SECURITY ENGINEER

Easy Dynamics is seeking an experienced Digital Security Engineer to support a high-impact Digital Transformation and Zero Trust implementation program. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Zscaler expert with the ability to design, configure, and optimize enterprise-scale security solutions, while integrating Zscaler with a broad ecosystem of tools and platforms. This role requires not only technical depth but also strong consulting skills to help guide client stakeholders in modernizing their security posture and aligning with Zero Trust principles. To excel in this role, in addition to the Zscaler experience, you’ll need an in-depth understanding of enterprise IT concepts, cloud security, FISMA compliance, digital identity, and privacy—all while closely adhering to NIST standards and emerging Zero Trust implementation guidelines.
Your role will demand a high level of technical proficiency, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity. This role is not just about technical skills; it’s also about your ability to manage organizational change. In your advisory capacity, you’ll navigate the complexities of client organizations, driving and facilitating change to enhance security practices. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial because you’ll play a pivotal role in working with both technical and non-technical business leaders. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise Cybersecurity programs within a federal public sector environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing cybersecurity measures following NIST guidelines, with Zero Trust architecture.
  • 5+ years Hands-on experience with configuration, architecture, and optimization of Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX).
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust frameworks and principles (CISA, NIST, DoD models).
  • Excellent communication skills to internal and external stakeholders – ability to adjust messaging to a variety of audiences (client leadership, technical staff, team members etc.).
  • Consultative mindset and ability to map solutions against client challenges.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a US Government security clearance/public trust.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industry certifications: Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP), Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator (ZCCA), CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Azure/AWS Security Specialty.
  • Experience in federal government or regulated industry environments.
  • Knowledge of secure cloud adoption frameworks and hybrid environment security.
Responsibilities
  • Zero Trust Architecture and Implementation:


    • Supervise the deployment of Zero Trust principles across the enterprise, prioritizing network security, data encryption, identity and credential management, and application security. Hands-on to develop technical artifacts. Create and present briefs and presentations to senior leadership.

    • Lead the design and implementation of network segmentation strategies, ensuring isolation of critical assets and zero-trust-based traffic inspection and monitoring.
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop proactive strategies to mitigate risks in line with Zero Trust principles across network and data domains.
    • Evaluate security architectures and designs to determine the adequacy of security design and architecture proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in acquisition documents.
    • Zscaler Architecture & Configuration:


      • Design, implement, and optimize Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and other modules).

      • Define Zscaler policies, configurations, and architecture for secure connectivity and threat protection.
      • Develop Zscaler deployment strategies for large-scale enterprise environments.
      • Align Zscaler deployments with the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model and organizational Zero Trust strategies.
      • Integration with Enterprise Tools:


        • Integrate Zscaler with endpoint security platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Tripwire), vulnerability management tools (Tenable), network monitoring (SolarWinds), identity providers (Active Directory, Azure AD).

        • Connect Zscaler with SIEM, SOAR, and ITSM platforms for threat detection, response automation, and incident management.
        • Implement Zscaler integration with cloud storage and collaboration platforms to enforce secure data access and sharing.
        • Security Strategy & Consulting:


          • Document and address organization’s information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle

          • Participate in security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan
          • Advise stakeholders on best practices for security modernization, cloud migration, and risk reduction.
          • Conduct gap analysis and develop actionable roadmaps for security capability uplift.
          • Provide architectural guidance and mentor technical teams on Zscaler and integrated security solutions.
