QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food Safe, First Aid certification, Serving It Right and a Class 4 drivers license are assets.
  • Working knowledge of not-for-profit and community based organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, facilitation and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with program staff, volunteers, non-profit or publicly funded groups, agencies or organizations.
  • Applicants must be able to be comfortably on their feet and stand for the majority of a shift, as well as lift and carry as much as 20-25 pounds of equipment or other related program items.
  • Flexibility with occasional evenings and weekends and seasonal events is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures rooms are set-up to serve both participant and programming needs.
  • Ensures proper room take down and clean-up is done in accordance with current health & safety requirements.
  • For the delivery of food services to Seniors, ensuring the commercial kitchen and other spaces utilized are properly cleaned at the end of each session.
  • Oversees volunteers with meal preparation, meal service and kitchen clean-up.
  • Builds and maintains good relationships with Seniors programs participants.
  • Addresses any questions, suggestions, concerns or complaints as they arise to the appropriate Seniors programs leader.
