JOB DESCRIPTION

Radford University Libraries seeks a collaborative, service-oriented librarian to procure and enable discovery and access of journals and databases towards fostering inclusive learning and student success. Reporting to the Head of Collection and Technical Services, the position ensures fiscal responsibility for over $1,000,000; manages the daily invoicing, ordering, cancelations, holdings, and rights management for all subscriptions; has oversight over monographic acquisitions; and participates in electronic resources troubleshooting. The Serials & Acquisitions Librarian cooperates with others in the department and works closely with vendors and Radford University faculty and staff. This is a twelve-month, non-tenured professional faculty position with a starting rank based on experience and qualifications. It includes responsibilities for collection development, university service, and professional contributions.
This position works extensively on OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services library services platform, in eVA (Virginia’s eProcurement Marketplace), and with MS Excel spreadsheets. This is a great position for a librarian who likes working with people, puzzles, numbers, and spreadsheets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from an American Library Association-accredited program.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills through a variety of communication methods.
  • Evidence of being able to develop and maintain successful professional interpersonal relationships.
  • Experience working with financial or other numerical data.
