About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Server Administrator with proven expertise in NIST 800 security frameworks to join our growing IT and cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our server infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and federal guidelines.
This role is essential in strengthening our organization’s information security posture and ensuring reliable system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual).
  • Implement and enforce NIST 800-53, 800-171, or 800-37 controls across server environments.
  • Conduct regular patch management, system hardening, and configuration audits.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls in alignment with security policies.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, system risk analyses, and remediation.
  • Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to ensure audit readiness.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including security baselines, SOPs, and incident response procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery and continuity planning activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Server Administrator or Systems Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of NIST 800 frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, 800-171, 800-37).
  • Proficiency in server operating systems: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools, log analysis, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Security certifications preferred: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
