SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Server has the seniormost role on the front-of-house team. They provide excellent guest experiences by lending their expert hospitality knowledge to develop enriching guest experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expert knowledge of runner and server skills
  • Unprecedented work ethic
  • One or more years of experience in hospitality
  • Works well in a fast-paced, chef-driven environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Must be able to move, pull, or lift at least 35 pounds
  • Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift
  • Must be able to carry a full tray with either hand
Responsibilities

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job duties include, although are not limited to:
1. Executes all runner and server assistant responsibilities and tasks as needed by their team
2. Manages a section and leads a team of 1-3 runners and servers to execute a coursed menu across multiple dining areas
3. Acts as the primary ‘face’ of the team, facilitating all aspects of the welcome, meal, and departure for each dining group with the other captains on the floor
4. Builds magical dining experiences by acknowledging special occasions and dietary restrictions
5. Provides prompt tableside recommendations for beverage pairings and dietary substitutions
6. Handles service recovery by addressing guest concerns, resolving issues promptly and accurately
7. Expert knowledge of all menus and experiences offered (including techniques, ingredients used)
8. Complete knowledge of all the silver, plate, and glass markings of all menus
9. Advanced tableside presentation skills
10. Ensures that guest checks are accurate to what was purchased and comped during the menu
11. Participates in and delegates tasks for setting up and breaking down all FOH stations, completing checklists
12. Leads the completion of closing duties by utilizing the team and assigning them to tasks.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors, managers, or chefs
