JOB OVERVIEW

Heart’s Tavern (Kimberley, ON) are seeking a server assistant to join our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Part-time, seasonal position with the potential to move into a full-time employee.

EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to learn detailed menus, and hold enthusiatic conversations with guests about the restaurant.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A commitment to maintaining high performance standards within a tight knit and strong team environment
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, in accordance with health regulations and the company health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customer as they enter premises in a friendly and professional manner.
  • See guests to a clean and ready to be dined at table, ensuring any special requirements are actioned.
  • Ask if you can take the guest’s coats (if applicable) and make a note of where they are placed
  • Communicate discretely and professionally with front of house staff about any discerning details concerning a table that has been greeted by you.
  • Make a mental note of tables as you bring them to their table and be ready to assist them if required, keeping the tables’ server(s) informed of any actions.
  • Check that each customer has everything they need as they exit and have their checked items ready if applicable.
  • Assist other servers, bussers and expeditors when there is downtime.
  • Ensure proficiency in the knowledge of the restaurant (opening hours, website, reservations procedure), the history and the food served.
  • Take initiative to store deliveries throughout your shift and as soon as possible, paying particular attention to deliveries as you travel around the restaurant.
  • Communicate any health and safety concerns, grievances, guest complaint, questions on operational procedure etc. to the general manager.
  • Maintain at all times clear, kind and professional communication with all staff and guests alike, in accordance with the company’s code of conduct (see employee handbook).
  • Other duties as assigned.
