SERVER ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION The Server Assistant is responsible for supporting the servers and bartenders in providing excellent customer service to guests. They assist with setting up tables, taking orders, delivering food and drinks, and clearing tables. The Server Assistant also ensures that the dining area is clean and organized, and that guests have everything they need to enjoy their dining experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist servers and bartenders in providing excellent customer service to guests * Set up tables with appropriate silverware, glassware, and dishes * Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth and efficient service * Deliver food and drinks to guests in a timely and efficient manner * Clear tables and reset them for the next guests * Ensure that the dining area is clean and organized at all times * Assist with cleaning and stocking the bar and kitchen as needed * Answer guest questions and provide recommendations as needed * Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently * Preparing and delivering room service and carryout orders * Operating and cleaning glass washing machine in accordance of sanitation standards REQUIREMENTS: * Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred * Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and ability to stand for long periods of time * Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations like resolving customer conflicts * Ability to make quick decisions * Ability to create a positive and welcoming customer experience * Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this role, with limited tolerance for unplanned absences or last-minute call-offs BENEFITS: * Employee discount * Flexible schedule * Health insurance available * Dental insurance available * Paid time off * Employee profit sharing (after 1 year continuous service) * Complimentary hotel room on your birthday (after 1 year continuous service) ABOUT US: We are a family-owned independent restaurant and hotel located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
