SERVER - BIG CHILL ISLAND HOUSE

Summary of Position: Join us at Big Chill Island House and enjoy the life of a server with an Intracoastal Waterway view! Located in North Myrtle Beach’s premier waterfront spot at Barefoot Landing, we’re looking for team members who can be ambassadors for our signature cocktails, craft beer, tailored wine selection, and innovative food experience. Our servers are not just attendants; they are performers, creating a live show daily! Your role extends beyond service; it’s about whisking our guests away from the daily grind to a breezy island escape, whether on the rooftop at our Terrace Bar or inside our Tree House. QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years relevant experience required; preferably in a fast-paced restaurant
• Must have an outgoing, upbeat, friendly personality
• Must be at least 18 years of age, preferably over 21 years.
• Must possess a current ABC Card
• Have advanced knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
• Be able to work in an active environment that includes standing, walking, and going up and down flights of stairs for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed; ability to balance personal and professional life

• Provide a Tour of our Menus (Food and Drink). Highlight features and suggest specific menu items
• Do not be “just” an order taker. Answer questions appropriately. Take orders accurately.
• Be a storyteller, make suggestions and guide the customer.
• Be aware of guest’s special needs, requests, and desires.
• Share guests requests, needs, likes, and dislikes with the team and management.
• Be a guest recognition expert. Know our regulars by name.
• Welcome and greet guests. Smile. Make eye contact. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
• Know everything about our signature cocktails, craft beers, tailored wine selection, spirits, and food items.
• Enter orders in our point-of-sale system quickly and accurately.
• Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
• Be interesting. Be yourself. Have fun.
• Monitor and observe all guests’ dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
• Constantly maintain a clean table and environment.
• Always sell dessert.
• Promote the restaurant, inform guests about upcoming Big Chill Island House events.
• Prepare the final bill, present a check to the guest, accept payment, accurately process credit card charges or make change.
• Provide appropriate farewells to all guests.
• Be the hardest working member of the team.
• Perform more than your share of side work at the start and end of each shift.
• Maintain clean service areas.
• Clearing and resetting dirty tables.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
