Canvas Moncton, Tapestry Collection is downtown Moncton’s premier boutique hotel, offering upscale amenities and food and beverage concepts – including Palette Urban Rooftop Bar. Palette is the first in Moncton to offer an elevated rooftop experience with a focus on handcrafted cocktails and elevated sharable plates – all while offering the best views Moncton has to offer.
We are seeking a professional, high-energy Server who has excellent communication skills and experience offering top-notch service to clients. In this position, you will greet and seat customers, learn about their preferences, recommend menu items, answer questions, take orders, and serve beverages and food items. You will also recognize opportunities to upsell and improve guests’ experiences.

Job Duties:

  • Welcome, greet guests warmly, escort them to their table and seats, providing a personalized luxury experience.
  • Provide expert recommendations on spirit and cocktail pairings to enhance guests’ experiences.
  • Professionally answer questions about menu items, ingredients and dietary restrictions.
  • Take and process beverage and food orders with accuracy and efficiently using TouchBistro POS.
  • Accurately relay beverage and food orders to the kitchen and bar team.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and correctly.
  • Monitor tables in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
  • Clear, clean and sanitize tables and debrumb chairs after guests leave the table. Reset tables for the next guest.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining and patio area.
  • Cultivate relationships with regular clientele and create a a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to create harmonious food and beverage pairings.
  • Train and mentor junior servers.
  • Adhere to and enforce all alcohol service laws and regulations.
  • Process payments and handle cash and credit card transactions with discretion.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years of experience in a bar
  • Responsible Beverage Certification
  • Sufficient mathematical skills to process payments and complete end of shift cash out reports
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, and mixed cocktails
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in a second language is an asset
