AN UNDERSTANDING OF FOOD SERVICE AND PREPARATION WITH A FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE IS AN ASSET. SMART SERVE WILL BE A REQUIREMENT. RETIREMENT HOME OR HOTEL EXPERIENCE IS ALSO AN ASSET. BONUS OF $250. PAID AT 450 HOURS TO PART TIME STAFF.

• Key Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Dining Services Manager, responsible for duties as outlined below:
• Serving Meals to residents and guests in the dining room
• Plate desserts and salads as necessary
• Sets dining room tables and clears the dining room of dishes and utensils during and after meals
• Always assist in keeping dining room neat and inviting for residents & guests
• Billing residents for alcoholic beverages and guest meals as required
• Cleaning dietary equipment and working areas
• Understand and adhere to regulations pertaining to Food Handling, Sanitation & Safety
• Adhere to Public Health standards
• Operation of equipment as required in preparation for service of meals
• Effective communication, both written and verbal with co-workers, residents, and guests
• Participates in staff meetings and in-service training within the home as required
• Complies with infection control protocols as directed
• Complies with corporate policies and procedures
• Completes TLC online training and all other training as required
• Complies with Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System including recognizing health & safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation as well as participating in fire drills and other emergency procedure training.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager
