We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently managing transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and handle various tasks will contribute to a positive shopping experience for all patrons.

SKILLS

• Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a retail environment such as a grocery store.
• Proficient in cashiering with a solid understanding of cash handling practices.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math calculations.
• Experience in merchandising and stocking procedures is a plus.
• Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to assist a broader range of customers.

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions accurately.
• Handle cash transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including merchandising and stocking shelves as needed.
• Provide product demonstrations and information to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
• Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities.
• Supervise junior staff members, ensuring adherence to store policies and excellent customer service standards.
• Assist in inventory management, including stocking shelves and conducting retail math calculations for inventory accuracy.
• Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries via phone.
