We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team. at Il Fornello! We are an Italian upscale family-friendly restaurant, entering our second year of operations. Il Fornello as a brand has become a house-hold name in the GTA over the past 50 years, and you can be part of our continued growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Server, you will be responsible for ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by delivering high-quality food and beverage service while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

SKILLS

• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Proficient in using POS systems, particularly Micros POS, for order entry and payment processing.
• Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices within the food industry.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations.
• Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.

• Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system, including Micros POS.
• Provide detailed menu information, including daily specials and recommendations, to enhance guest experience through effective upselling techniques.
• Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, adhering to food safety standards.
• Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties as required, ensuring all food handling practices are followed.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely order fulfillment.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
